Notable events of the Tournament |
His Holiness Hazoor Maharaj Sant Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji first inspected the pitch with His divine eyes and then inaugurated the Tournament by playing the first ball.
Whole Tournament was covered by 36 team members of D.D. Sports through 8 digital cameras and with the facility of Third Empire, the facility not even seen in the Ranji or Duleep Trophy Matches.
New Prizes introduced on behalf of the companies sponsoring the event for every Eighter,
adjudged Best Catch and Best Fielder, Half Century, Hatrik and for
every hit on the Advertising Board placed all around the boundary line.
Red, Yellow and Green Cards introduced to maintain
discipline by the players on the field. However, none of the cards were
used in the entire tournament depicting the fairness and spirit amongst
the teams playing for the Jalal Trophy.
No team was conferred upon with the Time Penalty for the first time in the history of the Jalal Trophy.
Highest Score – Record
Team: Shah Satnam Ji Stadium made 200 runs (20 overs) on day one, creating a history in the tournament but that was enough for just one day as L.B.S. Cricket Club created a new record in the final match next day by making 230 runs (30
overs) to create a new milestone for the times to come.
