| Indo-Pak Veterans' Match |
This Cricket Stadium created history by hosting the first international match (Veteran Match) and that too, India vs Pakistan. The match attracted players like Saeed Anwar (Captain), Waqar Younis,
Izaz Ahmad, Mushtaq Ahmad and Indian players included Saeed Kirmani
(Captain), Madan Lal, Samir Dighe, Parveen Amre, Atul Wasan, et al.
The match was hosted to benefit the Shah Satnam Ji Asra Ashram for children.
The match attracted a huge crowd to deluge the stadium. The 40 over
match was very interesting and simultaneously backed by all the
supporters, was won by India. |

| The match was inaugurated by His Holiness Hazoor Maharaj Sant Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji by tossing the coin. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. Pak was able to take up the score to 210 in 40 over with a scintillating inning of Shoaib Mohammad's 110 runs. India backfired with an interesting partnership of Atul Wasan and Samir Dighe and was able to turn the match in its favour through 48 special runs from the bat of Parveen Amre. |

- Hazoor Pitaji inaugurated the match by tossing the coin for both sides.
- This was a ‘Benefit Match’ for the Orphans at Shah Satnam Ji Aasra Ashram.
- The match was covered live by DD Sports.
- Pakistan won the toss & captain Sayed Anwar elected to bat first.
- Pakistan were 21/3 when Izaz Ahmed played a blitzkrieg inning of 52 runs (56 balls) with help of 6 fours.
- Prime inning was played by Shoaib Mohammad who made a sensible century (110 runs) to set Pakistan score at 210 (40 overs)
- Atul Wasan & Samir Dighe (41) opened the innings for India to give a good start.
- Good Captaincy from Syed Anwar & extreme spin from Masood Anwar made India to totter at 111/5.
- Wisden Cricketer of the Year 1992 - Waqar Younis also gave a blow to India in form of Sanjiv Sharma.
- A strong 48 runs from Parveen Amre’s bat helped India to regain its form & win the match by 2 wickets.
